Who can stop Pepto Bismol?
  • First of all, let me apologize for something - it is not Meth who yells "Noodles, Noodles" in Wu-Gambinos. He has the chorus and the first verse, but not that line.
  • I have managed to piece together much of Kool Keith's Dr. Dooom via p2p, and I like it. Very refreshing doodoo rap. Though, I dislike the presence of guest rappers on both this record and Dr. Octagon, as the guests are not as good.
  • The blind guy reappeared at the gym today. People who hadn't seen him before practically fell over themselves trying to help him around. It's nice, but he can manage. Really.
  • A coworker played me a tape of her brother spinning drum and bass while another acquaintance of hers freestyled. I have been paying no attention to hip hop or dance music. Is this common? Are there some notable tracks/artists?
  • I may again be ready to venture into the exciting world of backpacker rap, but I need starting points.
  • I also want to learn how to meditate to bring my body temperature down several degrees.

Suggestions welcome.

Some recommendations:

Popol Vuh - tracks: Aguirre and Aguirre II; Brothers of Darkness, Sons of Light; Mantra of the Touching of the Air. album: Tantric Songs

now, this is "new age" music. really. also often used in Werner Herzog films. like Aguirre, the Wrath of God, for example.

The Animatrix - worth a rental at least. Beyond is cool and the best of the bunch - s'about a small Japanese town where a glitch in the Matrix causes haunted-house-type effects. Trippy, with a druggy falling down scene which reminds me of the carpet scene from Trainspotting. Ninja Scroll dude's is cool, too - nice scifi twisty story. Aeon Flux guy's deal isn't horrible, either. That man really is the inheritor of the Heavy Metal legacy. Which, if one is into jerking off to cartoons isn't a terrible thing.

Not that I am, just saying if one is.
